How to build a capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a small set of pieces that work with each other, so getting dressed stops being a decision. Start with a neutral base: a tailored blazer, straight trousers, a white top and one dress you feel good in.

Start with the base

Pick three neutral colours and stay with them for a season. Everything you add later should work with at least two pieces you already own.

Add one statement piece

One piece with texture or colour is enough to change the whole look without buying a new outfit.
